The first step on the pathway starts at county level. All counties have been instructed to standardise their County Championship format, and to this end Shropshire ASA made changes to the 2016 programme and have again moved closer to the standard in 2017. Next year we will make further minor changes to capture all essential requirements within the scheme.
With the County Championship structure in place the next stage is to follow the ASA England Programmes pathway for the swimmers and coaches. At County level we are required to target the 11 year olds (age at 31st December) and invite the top 18 boys and 18 girls to three development camps during the year. The selection will be based solely on ASA Rankings data following completion of the County Championships.
